Open Thread

Ok, folks. All that chatter last night was cluttering up the READING thread!!! HERE is where you should talk about Idol and margaritas and.... you get the picture! ;-)

Also, as Lisa described elsewhere, you can begin your own thread (such as Western movies--SKIP!!) by responding to an invitation from me to be a contributor to this blog. Also, in the upper right corner there is a "sign in" option so that once you are signed in, you can begin a new thread anytime.

Another idea... there is a chat feature in Google that Joslyn and I have used successfully. If you are signed into Gmail, you get connected instantly with a little ring when someone wants your attention. Another nice feature of gmail is that you can forward all gmail to another account, or send other email to gmail. I'm not sure how it works with lots of people online, but it may be worth a try. Let's experiment!

    I love the whole blog concept. I have been reading blogs for a few years now, and it is a cool world. I always thought I would like to try one out for my own, and this little blog here gave me the confidence to try it out.

    I am inviting you all to come and visit me....
    So, if you go over to the left, under
    followers, and click on my bobblehead, it should take you to my profile, and you can click on 'View from the End of the Lane' and it will take you to my blog, where there is a picture of the new grandbaby.

    Well Lisa....that blog is just charming....I love what you have done with it. Your new grandbaby is just beautiful!! All of your grandbabies are....you have a good lookin family. Is the pic on the tractor one of yours...if so who's in it?

    That is a picture of Jimmy and Lucas one night shortly after I had gotten my camera. I was driving them nuts taking pictures, well, not Lucas, but Papaw. So as they were driving away I took their picture and it is one of the best I have ever taken of them.

    I have to work on the chicken pics. Downloading and centering on a blog is a little tricky, for me anyway.

    I love when a picture is taken from behind like that...not my behind lol...just other people's. I had a friend who took his girls down by the Mississippi one day and he caught a shot of them from behind sitting on the dock and holding hands, they were dressed in shorts and shirts with summer hats on. He was asked by someone if they could publish it. I will have to ask him where it was published.

    OK...This "open" thread I guess is for the Chatter.... I hope you find it here...

    Today's plan.. is I am going out looking for photos. taking pictures of the beautiful day, to put on the web-site I am building. The web-site is for Owensboro Suicide Survivors. It is my first attempt at doing a web-site since my classes at VUJC.

    I have lost friends and family to suicide, so I picked them and am doing the web-site for free.

    I hope to have it done this summer. I will give you all a link to it, when I get something to show.

    I just got back from VUJC....decided to take Accounting I at VUJC instead of online and changed Sociology to Human Biology....decided Human Bio might be too much to take with 5 other classes....and the good news Skip is that I am taking Sociology with Sherry on Wednesday's this Fall....YEA I HAVE ANOTHER CLASS WITH SKIPPY!

    aaaaaaa NO... I just had Sociology with Sheri this last semester. Me and Mary took it together. I got a 96. and she got the top grade in the class with a 98% Only because she messed up the final and got a 90% which brought her grade down to a 98. she had a 100% going into the last week. But with when we found out mom had cancer that week went to pieces.

    I do have accounting 1... I have it on tuesday afternoon from 1pm to 345pm. so if you have it then we will be together......

    and if you could wait one semester on human bio. me and Mary are taking Human Biology in the Spring, January 2010.

    We could have a study group. and from what me and Mary have have heard, we will need a study group. Loner teaches it.

    oh and don't mention to Sheri that you are friends with me and Mary.... it might affect your grade in class...he he he..

    oh and i found out we will have a new accounting group at vujc this year... new teachers.

    Oh Well, we will just have to meet for lunch then....I think Lisa2 and Margarita will be in the class. (hope someone I know will be in the class!)

    My Acct I is for the summer session on Wednesday from 1:00 to 3:45 and Human Bio also on Wednesday from 5:00 to 9:30....Yes Loner is teaching it and I figured it would be hard so that is why I didn't want to take it in the spring...too many other classes and not enough time to study for it.

    Ugg...English Comp starts this week..Online...it looks pretty crazy looking at it on blackboard...I hope it wasn't a mistake to take that class online and ruin my 4.0....Seems alittle overwhelming. But...it is the only class I am taking...so I will have to work hard...if I bomb my first paper...I'll be hunting down Mary in Academic Support! lol... Our first paper is whether or not we think people should vote when they turn 18...should be interesting.

    Got my pool ready today...but it is COLD...like really turning lips blue cold...No way am I gettin in! I need a pool heater!

    Yup Zach... you should have taken one... We hang out in Academic support on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm...

    Our garden is looking good, peppers, tomatoes, I am growing sunflowers for the first time, they are 8 feet tall and look BEAUTIFUL!!!!

    The Zinnas look great too.
    I played poker last night and for the second week in a row was the BIG winner....

    sry i missed your comment skip...like i said...i been checkin in...checked a few and no new posts..musta missed that up there....

    I have to write essays on topics in the english comp book. We have a choice out of the given topics for each chapter...around 6-8 topics.
    So better than just one! Doing great too so far I am weeks ahead in the class...only 1 more essay and the final. I don't know my exact grade but a high A for sure.

    Going good here too!

    I am taking Business Math, and Ethics too, But I am NOT taking them until the Spring...

    in the Fall, I will have Intermediate Algebra, Accounting 1, American history 2, and English comp 1.

    COOL.... I think we will be in Academic Support Center in the mornings. then in between the afternoon and evening class. from 3:45 to 6:30pm in academic support, Mary is tutoring again this year, so look for us there.
